Abstract

Language plays a vital role in shaping cultural identity and preserving the traditions, beliefs, and values of a community. It serves not only as a medium of communication but also as a symbol of social belonging and cultural heritage. This relationship between language and cultural identity formation in multicultural and globalized societies. how language reflects historical experiences, social practices, and collective memory, helping individuals connect with their cultural roots. the impact of globalization, migration, and digital communication on indigenous and regional languages. The decline or loss of language can weaken cultural identity, while language preservation strengthens community unity and cultural continuity. Furthermore, the research discusses the role of education, media, and government policies in promoting linguistic diversity and cultural awareness. Through qualitative analysis and review of existing literature, the paper concludes that language is one of the most powerful elements in the construction and maintenance of cultural identity. Protecting and promoting linguistic heritage is therefore essential for preserving cultural diversity in modern society.
