Abstract

Language plays a significant role in shaping social attitudes, cultural values, and perceptions of gender in society. Media, as a powerful medium of communication, influences public understanding of gender roles through the use of language in news reporting, advertisements, films, television programs, social media, and digital platforms. The representation of gender through language often reflects existing social norms and stereotypes, which can either reinforce inequality or promote inclusiveness and equality. the relationship between language and gender representation in media by analyzing how linguistic choices influence the portrayal of men, women, and gender identities. It explores the use of gendered language, stereotypes, labeling, and discourse patterns that contribute to unequal representation in various forms of media communication. how media language affects audience perceptions, social behavior, and cultural expectations regarding gender roles.
