Indigenous languages represent the cultural identity, historical knowledge, traditions, and worldview of native communities across the world. These languages serve not only as a means of communication but also as a repository of oral history, folklore, rituals, ecological knowledge, and social values passed down through generations. However, globalization, urbanization, modernization, and the dominance of widely spoken languages have placed many indigenous languages at risk of extinction. The decline in the number of native speakers has created serious concerns regarding the loss of cultural heritage and linguistic diversity. the importance of preserving indigenous languages and highlights their role in maintaining cultural continuity and community identity. the social, educational, and technological challenges faced in language preservation efforts. various strategies adopted by governments, educational institutions, and cultural organizations to revive endangered languages through digital documentation, bilingual education, community participation, and media representation.
