Abstract

Sustainability has emerged as a critical factor in supply chain management. This study examines how firms in the manufacturing and retail sectors leverage sustainable supply chain practices to gain competitive advantage. Data from 200 multinational companies indicate that green logistics, ethical sourcing, and waste minimization not only improve environmental performance but also enhance brand reputation and operational efficiency. Challenges include initial investment costs and supplier resistance, while best practices involve stakeholder engagement, continuous monitoring, and innovation integration. The study provides actionable insights for managers seeking to balance profitability with social responsibility, contributing to the interdisciplinary understanding of sustainability and business strategy.
